Wine Bottle
The wine bottle possesses a long and interesting history. From the time when Romans revealed that a good medium for storing wine is glass, Wine bottles have progressed rapidly. Glass bottles are considered to be the finest way of storing and preserving wine.
The time till Romans became dominant; wine was stored in clay flasks. It was Romans who found out glass as a medium of storing wine as it didn’t affect the flavor of wine and wine was also visible through bottle. Wine bottles were available in different sizes so that consumer never precisely knew the quantity of wine they were getting. Due to this reason consumers were compelled to bring their own containers for measuring quantity of wine to be dispensed and selling wine in bottles were regarded as an illegal activity.
Originally wine bottles were of onion shaped as this shape was simple to blow. After carrying on some research, it was found that a flat longer bottle was the best for storing wine, due to which the wine age properly developed and kept the cork wet. The wine bottles with smaller necks and elongated bodies were more appropriate for long-term storage and transportation.
The real “wine bottle” was made up of strong, heavy, dark glass by a ball shaped body that comprised of slight punt at the bottom to provide bottle stability. Around the neck of the bottle, a ring was applied away from bottle’s mouth for strengthening the neck and holding the string that seized and blocked the cork. As time passed, the body turned out into elongated and the neck became shorter for improving its stability. At that time bottles were made from charcoal molten glass which prepared them very delicate.
Even wine bottles gift box can be designed by you if you are experienced with the art of work. Wide variety of materials is available when it comes to gift packing of wine bottles. Flowers or other items can also be attached to the box. Even metal containers for wine bottles are available which can be used by you for creating your own metal sheet.
Since many years wine bottles have gained immense popularity. They have moved out from onion shaped bottles to flatter and longer bottles. They have also moved out through hand processing to wholly automatic mechanization. Bottle makers therefore have permitted the long term preservation of wine by enhancing its transportation and storage.
