American Consumer Opinion (ACOP): Top 25
Survey Site Reviews, Top Cash Paying Survey Sites January 24th, 2008As I said yesterday, some of the best survey companies send out the least amount of surveys. American Consumer Opinion is one the the best, but don’t expect you inbox to be stuffed full of surveys from them.
Surveys can make you Hungry
A major international market research firm based in Dallas, TX, they are one of the most reliable survey companies out there, sending well thought out surveys which are not overly long or tedious. I joined several months ago, and have gotten 1 to 2 surveys a month since then. They send out screener surveys which are very short, and you will know right away if you qualify for the longer paid survey. In other words, these people don’t waste your time, are very upfront and they PAY in a timely manner! You won’t be paid for taking a screener survey (entered into a drawing) but the long surveys after that pay from $4 to $50. Here is part of an email I received after I registered:
Hello Heath,
Congratulations! You have completed the registration process and are now a member of American Consumer Opinion(r)!
As a member, here’s what you can expect from us.
- The email invitations to our surveys will come from me, Anne Parks.
- The information you provided us on your registration form will be used to match you with surveys related to your work, background, and interests. When we have a survey that might fit you, we will email you an invitation to the screener, (which is a short questionnaire). Your responses to the screener will tell us whether you would be a good fit for the survey itself (a longer questionnaire).
- Whenever you complete a screener (the short questionnaire), your name will be entered in a drawing for cash awards. Whenever you complete a survey (the longer questionnaire), you will receive a cash award in an amount ranging from $4 to $50, depending on the length of the survey.
For now, we invite you to bookmark our site, www.acop.com. On our website you’ll also find helpful resource links for consumers and fun surveys you can take right now (but please note, you don’t get paid for taking the fun surveys found on the American Consumer Opinion(r) website)
Sincerely,

Anne Parks
Vice President
American Consumer Opinion(r)
Be patient with this one, because I’ve done lots of research beyond my own experience with them, and American Consumer Opinion is one of the top rated survey companies out there. Remember, it’s quality over quantity for American Consumer Opinion!

NPDOR is a sweepstakes based survey site meanint they DO NOT pay you to take survey. Instead you get points that you can enter to different sweepstakes. The more points you have entered in a sweepstakes the better chance you have of winning. If you enjoy getting payed for your opinions then this is not the site for you. Survey Spot or My View is.

I don’t know why I asked for a review of paidsurveytopia.com when I already know what this site is about.
Here’s what I posted on ripoffreport about it in march 25 of this year:
Don’t trust the results of the survey database paidsurveytopia.com because most of them are SCAMS and a few are true legit survey websites like PINECONE RESEARCH.
Do your own research before signing up with the results.
I’m on disability at only 20 years old… I’m looking for a legitimate WORK AT HOME JOB. This is not it.
I will keep reporting websites that are scams/spams and during my investigation were not reported here.

I have made a good amount of money with American Consumer Opinion with only completing three paided online surveys. The first survey I finished was a $25 Diet & Nutriion survey. It had two different parts. One was given to me when I qualified of the survey. The second part was sent a couple of days later after I finished the first part. At that time this survey, was the highest cash reward I received for completing a single survey.
I also made $9 from two other ACOP suveys. One was a Electronics survey and I got $4 for finished it. The other survey was $5 Restaurant survey that only took 20 minutes to complete.
So I have made a total of $34 with American Consumer Opinion since I joined a while back. They are one of the most reliable survey companies out there and I’m am very pleased with the money I earned from them.

ACOP is a good solid survey company that everyone should subscribe to. It is frequently mentioned as one of the top five survey companies on other forums and they offer infrequent, always paid, surveys and their checks are mailed out in a very timely manner. This is probably my third favorite after SurveySpot and PineCone so far. Valued Opinions and ClearVoice probably round out my current Top Five.
May 10th, 2008 at 12:58 am
I just received my third $3 check from ACOP in the past three months. You need to keep track of the surveys that you complete because ACOP’s website does not keep track of them for you. Same with PineCone.

Like the warning in the SURVEYSPOT website that EDDIE told us about, ACOP has one too… IF U’RE A MEMBER, THIS IS A MUST-READ:
“WARNING!
Mystery Shopper Scam
A fraudulent Canadian company is using the American Consumer Opinion® name to mail counterfeit checks for thousands of dollars, instructing you to deposit the check and then wire part of the money back to them. The company falsely claims the money you wire will go towards your training to become a mystery shopper. This is a criminal and illegal scam. Do not attempt to cash or deposit the check. Do not wire any money to anyone. Membership in American Consumer Opinion® is always free.
Thank you.
Anne Parks,
Vice President of American Consumer Opinion®”

I also received my third check, this one for $4 instead of the usual $3, from ACOP today. It appears that ACOP sends out checks immediately after the survey is completed and that they arrive in two weeks or less.

I haven’t made any money with ACOP

hi heath,
i have done one survey so far with acop, i wanted to know how i can view my account i.e. check on my incentives, and when i can redeem those…etc…there seem to be no link in their site…
thanks for your very informative site! i’ve got this bookmarked!
May 27th, 2008 at 6:02 pm
As far as I know, ACOP DOES NOT have a place to check your incentives. After you finish a paid survey, they will sent you a check with your reward. You can only log to chage your profile using this link https://www.acop.com/Login.aspx?L=1
A good thing to do when you finished a paid survey is to not the date and the $ you will get, so you can contact them if you don’t get the check.

American Consumer Opinion panel is frequently mentioned as one of the top paid survey sites and although they are only listed as #15 on my highest paying survey sites list, I think everyone should be a member of this very solid company. Unfortunately, they do not keep track of your payments on their website, but they do pay by PayPal in a timely manner and their surveys are not too long. They also have an excellent reputation for customer service and survey support.
15. ACOP $26.00 (PayPal) ($26 rec’d)

I agree, ACO is one of the top paid survey sites that offers monthly surveys. Since I joined their panel I have earned $54. I received my last check on August 27. It was for completing a 30 minute survey that got me $5. I recommend every one join this panel if you are looking to make $ by taking online surveys. 8(3)

I had NO idea American Consumer Opinion had a PayPal payment option. I always thought they ONLY offered checks as the payment method. If they do in fact offer PayPal, then please do tell how to you can change the payment method….
October 15th, 2008 at 2:33 am
My bad! ACOP pays ONLY by checks. That is one of my frequent mistakes from being old and addled while trying to keep up with 40+ survey companies. Good catch!

Hey Heath, first of all, I’m a big time fan of you and yourfreesurveys for the wealth of information you have supplied me with. If it is not too much trouble, I would like you to review a new site I found, called Acrazytwist.com Thank you and keep up the good work!

13. ACOP $81.00 ($4 po) (Joined; 2008-03-01) ($77.00 rec’d) ($5.00 req’d)
American Consumer Opinion panel, or ACOP, is definitely one of the Top 20 paid online survey companies. They send between one and three surveys per month at most and they are generally for $4 (up to $50 for an interactive survey) for a 10 to 20 minute survey. You are now able to check your total earnings on their website and redeem your earnings as soon as $4 has been accumulated. Their checks always arrive promptly within four weeks. They also sport the Better Business Bureau logo on their website, which is a good thing to look for on any survey company website. Any problems can be quickly resolved with an email to: aparks@acop.com As noted frequently in reviews above, the primary complaint is that ACOP simply does not send out enough surveys, but the ones they do send are short, easy to complete and adequately compensated.

I’ve only made about $30 from ACOP even though I’ve been a member for over a year. However every time I have qualified and completed a survey, I have been paid very fast, usually a week.
July 16th, 2009 at 8:07 pm
I”m also a big fan of ACOP, I’ve only been doing it for a few months and have already gotten a number of surveys that have paid well. It takes a while for the $ to post to your account, but they send a check quickly after that, and they do warn you about that upfront. I very rarely get disqualified, I appreciate that they screen so well to start off with. And yes, like eveyroen else, I wish they would send more surveys my way!But I’ll take what I can get from them. A solid top survey site.
December 15th, 2009 at 12:27 pm
DO NOT JOIN THIS SITE IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM.
I Joined 6 weeks ago and had a total of $18.00 in my account with them.
Then I mysteriously disappeared. I could not log into the site.
I emailed the VP - Anne Parks and was informed that I was never a member.
I emailed her 4 survey links that I was invited to and participated in. In addition, I emailed her the links to each survey that qualified me and also the link that said I completed the survey and my account would be credited within two weeks.
NOPE - NEVER A MEMBER that was Anne Parks reply - INCREDIBLE!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR PUT UP WITH THE GRIEF I EXPERIENCED WITH THIS SITE, IT’S totally unethical.

I un subbed from ACOP about 3 months ago. I only qualified for 1 survey/product test and made $15.
They are legit and some people do have success with ACOP…..but I personally haven’t been able to make much money with them. I disqualified for most of their invites ( the few that were sent) and didn’t pass their screeners

ACOP - Cash-out History
11/06/2009 $12.00

Don’t get very many surveys from this company but the last survey i had was for $6 and it only lasted me 1015 minutes…just sent off for a cheque from them…
December 27th, 2009 at 1:34 am
ACOP is a very legitimate survey company that is worth $50 a year for me. They don’t send enough surveys, but they are very reliable.
January 6th, 2010 at 11:08 pm
Lately,ACOP have been sending frequent surveys..they have also set the cash out limit to 10 dollars..just casehed 26 dollars..They are becoming quite frequent
