SurveyScout: Worth the Sign Up Fee?
Advice, Survey Site Reviews December 22nd, 2008It seems that everyone is talking about SurveyScout these days. I bet I’ve gotten 20 emails asking my opinion about this website in the last 2 weeks. A quick search on Google will give you lots of answers, but I do have some personal experience with them so I’ll start with that!
Way back when I was a newbie to the online paid survey venture, I had done a search for the most popular online survey site. On the surface, it seemed that SurveyScout was a legitimate source for making money online. I didn’t know better at the time, so the $34.95 sign up fee seemed reasonable??? After all, they said they “today only”, I would be getting half off the regular price of $69.95…just like the TV commercials for Chia Pets and ShamWow! OK, did I mention that I was uninformed and gullible?? Anyway, I paid my money through Clickbank, and as they offered a money-back guarantee, I thought that it couldn’t hurt.
Here’s the deal. SurveyScout isn’t one bit different from any of the free online paid survey sites (like Yourfreesurveys) where you can get the same list for NO FEE. Of course, there is no way of knowing that without giving them your cash, so it’s no wonder so many people get sucked in. In fact, the list of survey sites and opportunities is not nearly the caliber of the sites you can find at the websites that don’t charge you a dime to get access. I won’t call it an out and out scam, but it is misleading.
Thankfully, I did get a refund when I wrote to them about canceling my membership. Although I got no respose from SurveyScout directly, I disputed the claim with ClickBank and my money was returned. So it was fairly painless for me. I have read other reports of people NOT getting their refunds. Go to the Ripoffreport.com to read these complaints.
The moral of this story is don’t pay for what you can get for free. And always do your research. If you don’t have time for research, then ask me to do it for you. I’ll check out anything

I did the same thing. I fell for the idea that paying a fee might give me access to sites I couldn’t get for free. As soon as I saw that my fee only gave me access to a list of sites I already knew, and still needed to sign up with individually, I contacted Clickbank and demanded my money back. It was refunded immediately, thank goodness. Lesson learned!

I always, always check to see if the paid survey site is the real deal. Almost all the paid site are free and never ask for your credit card number. This goes for secret shopper site as well since its a scam. some secret shopper site are real though.

I am currently using Limewire but I used to use iMesh and Morpheus but those two are no good but I could NEVER find what I was looking for. I think Limewire is a lot better because more people use it meaning more files are being shared…
